Great Eastern Life Assurance (M) Bhd will sponsor the Great Eastern Viper Challenge 2016, which will be held in Shah Alam, Genting Highlands and Sepang next year.
Great Eastern Life Assurance (M) Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Koh Yaw Hui said the company was happy to play a key role for the challenge.
“We do a lot more than risk management. In line with our brand aspiration, we hope to inspire Malaysians to live a better and healthier life by taking part in the coming Great Eastern Viper Challenge,” Koh said at the launch at Menara Great Eastern recently.
“We are proud to organise events like this which has a positive impact on the public.
“Hopefully it can help improve their health and well-being ,” he said.
Some 45,000 participants will take part in the event designed to test their endurance.
The first challenge will kick off on March 26 at Stadium Shah Alam with a 7km course.
The next challenge will take place in Genting Highlands in August and the final one will be held at the Sepang International Circuit in November.
Viper Challenge operations director Simran Latif said he hoped the participants would walk away as victors upon the completion of the endurance challenge.
“We are happy to be the collaborating partner for this event as our philosophy is similar to Great Eastern’s, which is to bring this good experience to people and help them become fitter.
“When they complete the challenge, I hope the participants will develop a newfound sense of confidence and accomplishment,” he said.
Participants can expect surprises for the race as Koh said the event would incorporate elements inspired by the insurance company’s core values, “to live great”.
“With our sponsorship, we hope to make a difference. We are a ‘live great’ company, therefore the sport race obstacles will feature some of our ‘live great’ elements,” he said.
To mark the occasion, Great Eastern’s Live Great card members are entitled to a 10% discount when they purchase the tickets for any categories of the challenge.
