XPAX Fantasy Fest 2015 is back and the second edition of the youth event has more activities lined up for both spectators and participants.

Taking place on Nov 28 and 29 at StarXpo, Kenanga Wholesale City (KWC) at Jalan Gelugor from 10am to 10pm, the free event is a favourite of gaming, cosplay and comics enthusiasts.

Speaking at the launch of the event at Damansara Performing Arts Centre, Celcom Axiata Berhad chief marketing officer Zalman Zainal hoped the event would allow the Malaysian youth to express themselves.

“We realise not a lot of brands sponsor this kind of event but we see it differently.

“This genre has a strong following and there are actually some pretty hardcore fans in this field.

“We are always looking for new ways to engage with the youth and Xpax Fantasy Fest 2015 is a good platform to reach out to them,” he said.

This year, the event sees the return of gaming tournaments and cosplay competitions which are open to the public.

Cosplay enthusiasts can take part in solo and group cosplay competitions judged by a panel of international celebrity cosplayers with cash prizes and a trip to Japan up for grabs.

Meanwhile, gaming enthusiasts can look forward to the Dota 2 tournament and FIFA 16 plus trading card competitions with cash and prizes to win as well.

In collaboration with other industry partners, the event will also see the exclusive preview of Street Fighter 5, which is set to be released next year.

Additionally, 15 exhibitors are expected to participate.

Exclusive privileges are available to Magic SIM customers when they purchase or reload with the RM5 starter park at the event.

Magic SIM customers can enjoy virtual reality games, gain access to meet-and-greet sessions with AnimeSong artistes and be eligible for the lucky draw.

The first 200 customers will also get free ramen.

Collectibles and games will be on sale at the in-house marketplace and educational workshops will be conducted by international artistes and local developers on making games, animation and digital art.
