KUCHING: The Sarawak ICT Expo 2015 (SICT) is a good chance to get the latest laptop computer and smart devices for the coming festive season.
Organised by Kuching Computer Business Association (KCBA), the 14th Expo from Nov 27 to 29 at the new exhibition hall in Wisma Saberkas Kuching, will feature 69 exhibition booths offering various technologies and devices as well as telco services.
Smart device brands from China and Taiwan, such as Oppo, Huawei, HTC and Acer, will participate in the fair. Acer, being one of the world’s top computer vendors, will also introduce a wide varieties of desktops, laptops and tablet personal computers to challenge other popular computer brands like Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Dell and Asus.
The latest Microsoft operating system software, Windows 10, will be unveiled during the exhibition.
Telekom Malaysia (TM) will also introduce its new Unifi packages – 30 Mbps Advance Plan and 50 Mbps – at attractive prices to fulfil the ever growing need for Internet services.
It will also announce the new Unifi broadband areas which will be installed in 2016.
TP Link looks forward to debut the new 4G LTE Router Archer MR200 and TL-MR6400. Its versatility in functioning as a traditional router for ADSL or VDSL connections or using SIM card to access 4G broadband speeds up to 150 Mbps does not require installation of telephone line or technicians. The Archer MR200 reaches up to 300 Mbps in 2.4 GHz and up to 433 Mbps in 5GHz band.
The exhibition’s Platinum sponsor, Gold Sponsor and Silver Sponsors are Telecom Malaysia Berhad, RedOne Mobile Malaysia and TPLink Distribution Malaysia Sdn Bhd respectively.
For the first time, Taiwan multinational information technology company in hardware Micro-Star International Co Ltd (MSI) will be in town to sponsor several exhibitors with its well-known gaming series hardware, laptops, motherboards, graphic cards and all-in-one personal computers.
MSI will also be the main sponsor for the SICT Expo Dota 2 Cyber Games, co-hosted by KCBA and Gizmo Gamers.
Other attractions include the Supermain Marketing, a new online marketing company partnering hundreds of companies in Kuching City, offering super deals in dining, beauty and health, entertainment, travel and hotels, events and products or services.
The exhibition will also hold a blood-donation drive, children colouring contest, E-waste recycle programme, lucky draws and the Dota 2 games for youths.
KCBA chairman Lee Kim Seng said the ICT Expo last year showed good response from the public with booth sales of 90%. He said he hoped the response would be better this year with target sales of around RM2mil and 40,000 visitors for the three-day expo.
