MY MANOR, an assisted living retirement home in Petaling Jaya was launched eight years ago as an exclusive and cosy retirement home for the elderly.
The home was recently taken over by a new management team comprising medical professionals and is being rebranded as My Aged Care.
With the rebranding, My Aged Care aims to be the elder care provider of choice, offering a suite of facilities for retirement, assisted living and nursing care.
Assisted living is a long-term care option for the elderly who need more assistance than is available to them at home but do not require heavy medical and nursing care that is provided by traditional nursing homes.
My Aged Care has two homes (both in Petaling Jaya) which are managed by a team of qualified nurses who provide round-the-clock care and companionship for its residents.
Residents receive as much supervision as they need as well as personal care assistance and healthcare services that still give them the ability to control their lives.
They are provided with balanced meals, exercise, mental stimulation and social interaction through a slew of care programmes.
Residents are regularly assessed by a doctor, who in consultation with their families, will prepare individual programmes for each resident.
To mark the rebranding of the homes, My Aged Care will be holding several activities at its premises at No 27, Jalan Taman 7/6 in Petaling Jaya tomorrow.
Among the activities are a drawing competition for 20 children from Taska An-Nur in Puchong, games and sing-along sessions for residents and their families and an Art exhibition by painter Betty Nathan.
Originally from Germany, Nathan has hung artwork on the walls of My Manor for years. Tomorrow she will be exhibiting more of her work for those interested.
The 70-year-old artist paints a variety of pieces on tropical landscapes, exotic flowers and butterflies in oil, watercolour and crayon.
