KUCHING: Works to build a new submarine cable system connecting peninsula Malaysia with Sarawak and Sabah will commence next year.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak said four connections for Sistem Kabel Rakyat 1Malaysia (SKR1M) would be built in Mersing, Kuching, Miri and Bintulu starting in the second quarter.
