KUCHING: It takes Kayan craftsman Emang Wan about four days to make a sape, the traditional Orang Ulu musical instrument.

Each instrument, which resembles a boat in shape, is carved out by hand from a single block of wood and decorated with distintive Orang Ulu motifs.
