Sibu all set for annual dance festival

Scientillating: A dance from Singapore which is expected to appear at the festival.

SIBU: Some 19 professional dancing troupes from 10 countries are expected to thrill audience at the Sibu International Dance Festival.

These troupes are from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and the United States and Malaysia.

The five-day festival starts tomorrow at the Civic Centre here.

The side activities in conjunction with the festival are a dance conference (9.30am-11.30am) and dance workshop (2pm-4pm) at RH Hotel tomorrow and Wednesday. Admission fee is RM10 per session. while it’s free for the outdoor site-specific performance at Sibu Esplanade at 7.30pm.

Organised by Sibu Hornland Dance Theatre, those interested are advised to get the tickets early to avoid disappointment as previous years’ festivals used to attract good crowd.
