KUCHING: The Hashtag Live Kuching (#LiveKCH) featured 12 YouTube sensations from Sarawak performing on stage at CityOne last weekend to the delight of the local community.
Organised by Sarawak Bloggers Society, #LiveKCH’s core objective has always been about putting the spotlight on today’s generation of young and talented Sarawakian youths.
“With these performers I am confident we can get the youths to be inspired and showcase their talents on both the social media and events like #LiveKCH in the immediate future,” Sarawak Bloggers Society president Cyril Dason said in a press release.
Sarawak Bloggers brought together the group of talented performers varying in talents such as Nanasheme, Ashrun Zikri, Azwan Juperi, Joyce Khoo, Syamel Izwan, Dzul Izzat, Sasha Ningkan, Nakama Band, Eric Goh, Saufi Sape’ Star, Ryan Han and Soul Dance.
Saufi Sape’ Star blew away the crowd with his awesome sape playing, a traditional lute of Orang Ulu tribe in Sarawak. His rendition of the Commonwealth Games official song “Standing in the eye of the world” attracted many onlookers as he strummed his sape with deft fingers.
Nanasheme, famous for her “Hantu atau Buaya” single, also performed for her fans and answered their questions during the interview session. The 20-year-old Universiti Teknologi MARA student has conducted several tours in Johor.
Dason said the focus of the event were the local people of Kuching and their talents, so that people would flood social media with positive things for a change due to lots of negativity going on social media recently.
“The bloggers community is shrinking due to social media dominations. But we have bloggers that are keen to be professionals or full-time bloggers. The community is small but they are getting serious,” he said.
The #LiveKCH set up three social media areas for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram users to connect with other users and make friends.
