KUCHING: Hashtag Live Kuching 2015 will gather the social media community and discover local talents this weekend at CityOne Megamall exhibition centre.
Organised by the Sarawak Bloggers, the event hopes to unite Malaysians through social media and fostering friendship particularly among Sarawakians. The event also promotes positive Sarawakian culture, which includes volunteerism and charity.
Sarawak Bloggers founder Cyril Dason said Hashtag Live would bring people of different backgrounds to come together to enjoy what they had in common and celebrate unity and diversity without prejudice.
Besides fostering unity and friendship, the event promotes yet-to-be-discovered local talents on social media and a place for them to showcase their talents.
“We are trying to bring out local talents so that the community in Kuching knows them and they can use it as a platform to introduce themselves. This event enables them to go further,” said Dason during the press conference at CityOne.
The Hashtag Live will also see live performances by up-and- coming Sarawakian Youtube artists such as Azwan Juperi, Ashrun Zikri, Dzul Izzat, Joyce Khoo, Eric Goh and Sasha Nigkan.
Popular Youtube star Nanasheme will also wow the crowd. She shot to fame through her second single “Hantu atau Buaya” uploaded in March 2015 which gained her 3.9 million views.
“For the first time ever, we hold a social media gathering in Malaysia. We have three social media set-up – Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We will give social media users the opportunity to use their social media to do activities such as sharing of positive ideas,” he said.
The official sponsors for the event are Sarawak Energy Berhad, TM Sarawak, Events Horizon, Sarawak Yes and CityOne Megamall.
