KUCHING: Press Metal Bhd’s earnings were hit by a partial machinery impairment loss of RM32.8mil caused by a recent fire at the company’s aluminium smelting plant in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu.
The fire in May resulted in a temporary halt to the plant’s operations to enable the damaged smelting pots to be repaired and to facilitate a clean-up exercise and restoration works.
