AFTER its smashing November 2014 debut in Johor, the Infiniti Euro 5 diesel is finally available in Klang Valley.
Boustead Petroleum Market-ing Sdn Bhd (BHPetrol) is the first petroleum company in Malaysia to offer the Euro 5-grade diesel, reinforcing its status as a leader in fuel technology.
“Euro 5 diesel is now in the Klang Valley and once again, BHPetrol is proud to provide Malaysians with ultra-clean diesel – a higher quality diesel that they can now opt to fuel up with,” BHPetrol managing director K.T. Tan said at the launch.
He added that the new BHPetrol Euro 5 diesel would be the fuel of choice for advanced diesel engine vehicles that require low-sulphur diesel to achieve optimum performance.
The Euro 5 diesel has only 10 parts per million (ppm) in sulphur content compared to the current Euro 2M-grade of 500ppm, Tan explained.
To further protect modern diesel engines, the fully imported BHPetrol Euro 5 diesel is also strengthened with German additives at maximum strength that will help keep engines clean.
Tan believes that the introduction of Euro 5 diesel will encourage car companies to introduce vehicles with advanced diesel engines, giving Malaysian more choices.
The Euro 5 diesel will be sold at RM2.05 per litre, 10sen more than the Euro 2M diesel price.
On introducing Euro 5 diesel in the other Malaysian states, Tan said there were key factors to consider.
“We need to get approvals and distribution facilities such as dedicated trucks in order to roll out the Euro 5 diesel in other states,” he said, noting that the company was looking at possibilities in states along the west coast.
The Euro 5 diesel will be made available at 10 selected BHPetrol stations this month, and another 10 by end of September.
