Govt urged to set up panels to address their problems

KUCHING: The government should set up a Commission on Indigenous Peoples and also a Native Land Tribunal to assist in the protection of minority rights and address territory disputes.

The Indigenous Peoples Network of Malaysia (JOAS), which links some 80 non-governmental bodies, said long-standing issues were inadequately dealt with by existing systems and procedures in place.
