RM200,000 raised but autism body needs more

Heart warming: Thousands turned up to support Kuching Autistic Association’s fundraising food fair yesterday.

KUCHING: Supported by thousands of people, the Kuching Autistic Association’s (KAA) charity food fair yesterday raised some RM200,000, meeting expectations but still falling short of the body’s annual operating needs.

KAA president Dr Yao Sik Chi said the association’s training centre for children and young adults was estimated to run an operating deficit of RM331,700 this year, based on the monthly per child training cost at RM733.
