IN CONJUNCTION with Genting Group’s 50th anniversary, Resorts World Genting is organising once again an art competition titled “Genting: 50 Wondrous Years”.

The competition, which runs until Sept 1, hopes to attract young artists aged between 18 and 25 years to use their creativity to come up with pieces centred on the theme “Genting: 50 Wondrous Years”.

The prize-giving ceremony will be held on Oct 9.

The event will also see the launch of an art exhibition featuring the work of 50 leading Malaysian artists and the pieces from the competition. The exhibition will be on from Oct 9 to 18, at Times Square, First World Plaza, Resorts World Genting.

This is the third time Resorts World Genting is organising the art competition.

“The idea behind this competition is to promote Malaysian artists. We are putting up a platform where up and coming artists can showcase their work through competition.

“And as we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year, we are also inviting top Malaysian artists to join us in exhibiting their work,” said Resorts World Genting Resort Communications and Public Relations vice-president Katherine Chew.

Winners of the competition will receive RM1,000 and Singapore-Penang-Langkawi cruise holiday package for two worth RM5,000.

Second-prize winners will take home RM800 and a stay at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore and Universal Studios tickets for two persons worth more than RM3,000.

Third-prize winners go home with RM500 and a stay at Awana Hotel for two.
