MBPJ to act against businesses that cause drains to clog up

Hard at work: MBPJ’s Solid Waste Management officers clearing clogged drains in Taman Sea.

THE PETALING Jaya City Council (MBPJ) is set to take action by August against businesses that have illegally covered drains in their vicinity or have failed to install grease traps in their premises.

“Many shopowners have done renovations to cover drains while there are those who dispose of oil in the drains or have not installed grease traps,” said Petaling Jaya councillor Sia Siew Chin during a press conference on Thursday held at Taman Sea, Petaling Jaya.
