MORE THAN a week into Ramadan, it is never too early to start thinking about Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
Mydin hypermarket is not only offering the public a wide selection of daily necessities but also items to prepare for the upcoming festivities.
Its Girang Syawal Tiba, which runs until July 20, sees competitive prices being offered for goods while customers with a Meriah Card can enjoy promotions and discounts on selected items.
Mydin marketing and communications department manager Sabariah Mohd said customers can look forward to buying their baju raya here with its range of songket, jubah and baju kurung available during a recent walkabout at their outlet in USJ 1, Subang Jaya.
This year, Mydin is introducing its baju kurung pelikat and baju kurung songket collection for the public.
Prices range from RM79.90 to RM99.90 for the former and RM199.90 to RM229.90 for the latter.
There are also songket for men in an assortment of colours while baju Melayu buttons are also available to complete one’s look.
“Our denim baju Melayu is a hot seller,” said Sabariah.
It is priced at RM59.90 for the shirt and RM99.90 for the shirt and trousers.
Local tailors and single mothers made the clothing, Sabariah said, adding that this provided these individuals an opportunity to earn a living.
Seeing a demand for Hari Raya clothes for newborns, Mydin has prepared a bigger range for their littlest customer while jubah for children are also available.
Additionally, those who prefer making their own attire can choose from a variety of material.
Apart from clothing, Sabariah added that customers can also find all their baking needs, fresh meat, spices and herbs and other daily necessities available in Mydin outlets.
They have some 200 types of Hari Raya cookies and 45 types of dates available
A Ramadan buffet is also available in the USJ 1 outlet between 3pm and 6pm, where customers can choose from a variety of food to break their fast.
“We will be reintroducing the Meriah Mania Coupon on July 2, which will see six selected items chosen weekly with discounts between 50% to 80%,” Sabariah said, adding that customers can head to their customer service counter for details.
Household decorations including decorative lights and artificial flowers are also available to brighten up customers’ homes.
“Customers can also do their wholesale shopping here,” said Sabariah, adding that many corporations and even individuals do their bulk shopping for charities here.
Raya clothings, toiletries, food and even Muslim prayer outfits are among the items found in its wholesale section.
Sabariah emphasised that the goods are offered at competitive prices for consumers.
She added that they would be having a Hari Raya open house, tentatively scheduled for July 31, in the USJ 1 outlet.
Customers can expect food, entertainment and celebrities present at the event.
