An official from the Klang Health Department confirmed the area had recorded 43 cases.
The official said both the department and the Klang Municipal Council had been making efforts to curb the spread of the disease.
Regular fogging and checks on Aedes mosquito larvae are also being also carried out on premises in the area.
The official also confirmed that a construction site near the residential area was served with a stop-work order after Aedes larvea was found there.
“Our investigations also revealed that the construction site was the cause of the outbreak,” he said
Ishwerjeet Singh, 32, said his wife came down with dengue fever on May 25 when she was about to deliver their first child.
“Doctors had to delay the delivery to save the mother and baby’s life.
“I am grateful that my wife recovered and delivered our daughter on June 3,” he said.
Ishwerjeet said after that, he, his parents and several of his neighbours also came down with dengue.
“I hope the authorities will do something to prevent more cases,” he said.
