N. Korea seeks formal ties with Asean

KUCHING: North Korea is among several countries that have applied to establish formal ties with the Association of South-East Asian Nations, better known as Asean.

Other countries included Norway, Ecuador and Switzerland, said Foreign Ministry secretary-general Datuk Osman Hashim this week after the Asean senior officials meeting here.
