1. Among the items found at Art for Grabs are handmade artworks by Malaysian artists and refugees alike. Pictured is an intricate Islamic motif and decorative borders painted by an Iranian asylum seeker.

There will be an arts and crafts fair in collaboration with the UN Refugee Agency to mark World Refugee Day. Sixty-four Malaysian booths will be featured at the exhibition with 20 refugee booths selling handmade artworks and various items. Expect everything from inspirational workshops, forums, performances and other activities. The event will be held at The School, Jaya One today and tomorrow, from noon till 8pm. Japan Foundation’s travelling exhibition title Winter Garden: The Exploration of Micropop Imagination in Contemporary Japanese Art will be held at University of Malaya Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur until June 22. The artworks curated by art critic Midori Matsui, features an exposition of works by some of Japan’s leading contemporary artists.
