IF AUDIT committees of local councils in Selangor are supposed to be the watchdogs against internal mismanagement, fraudulent claims by contractors and employee inefficiency, then they have failed.

This conclusion is made based on the many complaints by ratepayers on the lack of cleanliness, irregular cutting of grass, clearing of drains, and garbage collection by the 12 local councils.
