Good read: Dr Hii showing his latest book For the Sharing. Vol 3

SIBU: A new book entitled “For the sharing volume 3 with subtitle, making deals and living with commitments” has just been released by Dr Hii Sui Cheng.

Dr Hii, who is the executive chairman of Delta Leasing Snd Bhd, told reporters yesterday that the book was a recollection of his experience and knowledge which he was sharing with readers.

“I want to share knowledge and experience which can especially help young fellows and friends on things which they can avoid in making costly mistakes which can lead them to bankruptcy. In business we can make money but it can also result in tremendous loss,” he added.

This book describes deal makings which an individual is expected to become involved in as he or she progressed in life from a teenager into a working adult or business owner. At the same time, he or she would have also developed his or her own set of values which will define him/her as an individual. Is he an honest person with integrity? Is he a person who is unselfish and enjoy sharing his knowledge with others? What are his commitments in life?

This current book is Dr Hii’s fifth book. His first book entitled “Reflection-15 years on” was published in 1992, followed by “Many Different Rounds” in 2000 before he embarked on the series “For the sharing” with Volume 1 and 2 released in 2005 and 2010 respectively.

As in the previous books in this series of “For the sharing”, the contents of the current book (volume 3) represent the input from four individuals of varying experiences.

The guest contributor, Eric Hong Kang Wei, holds a Bachelor degree in Economics with a first class honours and an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan Management School.

He is currently working as a senior vice president in investments division of Khazanah Nasional Bhd. Associate Professor Dr Charles Hii is a principal medical scientist in Australia, carrying out medical research to improve treatment of patients.

Dr Ting Heng Bing, a senior private medical practitioner has over the years developed keen interest in Chinese ceramics and taken up antique collection rather seriously and Dr Hii Sui Cheng with a Doctorate in Philosophy in Chemistry spent the last 20 years in the financial sector and is now the executive chairman of Delta Leasing Sdn Bhd and a key member of the Sarawak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It is a book detailing personal experiences of the authors which can serve as very useful guides for young aspiring individuals thereby avoiding expensive mistakes usually associated with learning curve.

The 156-page book is published by HG & Associates and retails for RM30 per copy.

The proceeds from the sale of the books will contribute towards funding the Hii King Len Scholarship Fund which has already benefited more than 50 school-based Sarawak sporting stars since its launching in March 2012.
