Desperate plea to adopt pups

GOSLING was rescued as a three-month-old puppy with a broken pelvis early last year.

After months of treatment, Gosling was ready for adoption but no one had come forward to give him a home.

Just like Gosling, his friends Luna, Danny, Blackie, Naomi and Leah have also been languishing with canine welfare project Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) with nowhere to go.

All six young dogs, which are just over a year old, will be up for adoption tomorrow at Jaya One, Jalan 13/6, Petaling Jaya.

The adoption drive between 11am and 6pm will be held at the area behind Cosway and 7Eleven.

MDDB adoption coordinator Christine Lai said the organisation was unable to care for the six young dogs much longer.

“Boarding is RM35 each dog per day and that comes up to RM210 a day,” said Lai.

She said it has been suggested that the dogs be sent to a farm or plantation.

“It is very difficult for us to make that decision as it is a known fact that dogs do go missing in farms.

“Furthermore, the MDDB Six have been raised to be pets and would not know how to take care of themselves in that kind of an environment,” said Lai.

She added MDDB hope that people would come forward to give the MDDB Six good homes.

“We hope we won’t be forced to send them away to a farm or plantation.

“Please help us by giving these six beautiful young dogs that we love so much good homes,” added Lai.

She said all six have been neutered and vaccinated.

Lai also said those wanting to donate to MDDB in cash and kind csn drop off their contributions at the adoption drive.
