SOME 33 Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Master of Business Administration students and academic staff toiled in the heat building benches, painting them, and collecting rubbish from the shores of the Penang National Park’s Pasir Pandak Beach in Teluk Bahang.

USM Graduate School of Business Issues and Sustainable Development lecturer Dr Salmi Mohd Isa said the knowledge learnt in class in terms of engaging with nature, economics and society was put into practice as they gave back to society as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) project.
