Rituals to honour Lord Buddha

Gentle showers: Devotees taking turns to bathe Prince Siddhartha statues during the state-level Wesak Day celebrations at the Malaysian Buddhist Association in Burmah Road.

CONTINUOUS chanting of mantras filled the hall of the Malaysian Buddhist Association (MBA) in Burmah Road during the state-level Wesak Day celebrations in Penang.

Hundreds of devotees and visitors thronged the premises, where they got the opportunity to pour water over several statues of Prince Siddhartha, which were set up on a stage outside the building, before joining the chanting of the mantras.
