MIRI: The proposal by the Election Commission (EC) that future candidates for public election must have minimum of SPM credit in Bahasa Malaysia does not sound wise.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) secretary general Datuk Sebastian Ting said yesterday the criteria for a good wakil rakyat should not be based on language skills alone.
