Lots to do: An Ajinomoto employee helping the children prepare the ingredients for the cooking competition.

SOCIAL care and support play an important role in the development of children, especially the underprivileged.

Realising this, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Bhd helped empower 15 needy children from the Dignity for Children Foundation during its Corporate Citizenship Day.

The event is an educational tour of the Ajinomoto headquarters that allowed the children to learn new things and develop their cooking skills.

During the tour, the children visited 1909 Infoseum, which offered new information on the gastronomic world as well as the roots of Ajinomoto.

The highlight of the day was a mini cooking competition where the children joined Ajinomoto employees to create dishes based on the Artisan Appetisers demonstrated by a professional chef.

During the competition, the children not only picked up tips on how to cook but also learned about safety and hygiene while working in the kitchen.
