Users worry about poor safety measures at public facilities

Worrying sight: The high chairs at the Kelana Jaya Swimming Pool Complex are empty. The lifeguards instead sit behind the low benches at the back of the chairs.

THE quality of lifeguards at public swimming pools in the Klang Valley is in question as many have been found to be inattentive and not seated on their high chairs at the pools.

Following the drowning of a 12-year-old boy in a hotel swimming pool in Tanjung Bungah, Penang in February, StarMetro visited three public pools in Bangsar, Kelana Jaya and Subang Jaya, only to discover disappointing lifeguard situations.
