JOHOR BARU: The Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (AIESEC) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is organising a festival to provide young people with the opportunity in creating a sense of leadership among them.
The three-day event of Global Youth Festival 2015 would be held from April 16 to 18 in Bangunan Canseleri UTM.
Event organising committee president Nurmiza Nabilah Bushran said the festival is targeting over 600 youths to participate which aims in providing a platform to instil leadership and entrepreneurship mindset towards a better future.
“The programmes include discovering countries across the globe, cultural performances, cultural booths activities, project pitching competition, Choose2Protect workshop, and leadership forum.
“Choose2Protect is a campaign designed to create and increase awareness on the importance of protecting ourselves against Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs),” she added.
“The opening day is open for public to participate in the activities provided under the ‘Global Village – Experience diverse cultures in one place’ programme from 5.30pm until 11pm.
“Among the activities provided include cultural showcase, traditional games competitions and cultural performances at Dewan Baquet, Bangunan Canseleri in UTM with no admission fee,” she said.
Those interested to join the “Project pitching competition and workshop – Be original, save the future environment” programme, could register themselves at only RM15.
The activities include project pitching competition and “Choose2Protect project” workshop at Dewan Banquet, Bangunan Canseleri in UTM from 9am until 4.30pm.
On the final day there would be “Forum and self-discovery workshop – Leading yourself, empowering others” programme from 9am until 4.30pm. The admission fee is RM10.
