KUCHING: Has the Sarawak government’s request for higher oil and gas royalty hit a brick wall, asks state opposition leader Chong Chieng Jen.
It had been almost a year since the State Legislative Assembly passed a motion supporting the Chief Minister’s request asking the Federal Government to up the royalty rate from 5% to 20%, said Chong, who is the state DAP chief.
