Officers told to be lenient with small retailers

JOHOR BARU: Customs enforcement officers have been advised to be more accommodating to small retailers during their rounds to inspect whether they comply with the Goods and Services Tax (GST) or otherwise.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Chua Tee Yong said that they should be approachable and willing to assist them in implementing the new tax regime which started on April 1.
