KOTA KINABALU: Giant Hypermarket again became the first retail chain to offer jaw-dropping low prices of selected goods in view of the rising cost of living in the country.
With its earlier “Price Locked” campaign that would end on May 27 which guarantees the prices of a total of 1,000 items to remain at its lowest regardless of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) that was implemented nationwide on April 1, they have now come up with a “Murah Giler” campaign.
The campaign for all Giant stores in Sabah and Sarawak was ongoing and ends on April 26.
Selected household items, hardware, bedding, stationery and much more would be offered at RM2, RM4, RM5, RM8, RM10 and RM12.
The company Corporate Affairs Director Roslinda Idrus said these promotions are held to help customers save more.
“As the leading hypermarket chain in Malaysia, we try our best to understand customers’ needs, expectations and ease their burdens,” she said.
“The ‘Murah Giler’ campaign, which offers good quality products at low prices, received overwhelming response last year. This led to us bringing back the campaign this year to complement Giant’s Price Lock Campaign by offering non-food essential items at low nett prices.”
Roslinda explained that the “Murah Giler” products were specially sourced shipment that were offered at 25% lower than market value, hence are available nationwide including in East Malaysia (only while stocks last).
“Our two campaigns would help them plan their grocery expenses and daily household essentials without the worry of variables,” she added.
Among the products that are being offered for the campaign are notepads and plastic food containers at just RM2; storage basket, waste bin, slippers and 3-piece stainless steel lunch box for RM5; four-piece boy’s brief, bucket and men’s casual round neck printed tee at only RM8; Eveready batteries, water bottle, vacuum flask, 12-piece wire hanger and bath towel at only RM10 among others.
