ACTRESS and celebrity mum Sharifah Sofia brought her two daughters Ameera and Ariana to Dr Kong’s outlet in Tropicana City Mall for an informal foot assessment.
She found the session enlightening.
“We never really bother about our feet and the shoes we wear as long as they are nice, comfortable and fit well.
“But what if the shoes we wear aren’t healthy for our feet?” she wrote on Instagram.
Dr Kong’s range of adult and children’s footwear are meant to be both stylish and comfortable, incorporating elements to alleviate pain and discomfort for those with medical conditions.
Sharifah was the first to have her feet checked out by Datin Emily Lee, who manages Dr Kong along with her husband orthotist Datuk Dr Edmund Lee.
Emily gave some tips on the most appropriate footwear to keep both Sharifah and her little ones’ feet in tip-top shape.
“Sharifah’s feet are almost perfectly aligned and so is Ameera’s.
“However, Ariana’s ankles need some realignment with the proper footwear,” she said.
Following the foot assessment, they then proceeded to pick out footwear according to Emily’s recommendation.
“Apparently, if your ankles aren’t aligned, this can also affect our knees in the long run.
“As adults, we can’t really do much to fix this problem but for our children, it’s better to have them checked now before it’s too late.”
Sharifah picked out a pretty pair of cream-coloured pumps.
“I don’t feel tired wearing them.”
According to Emily, there are many anomalies that can be detected early.
“The proper footwear can rectify that at an early age.
“The ability to walk pain free and effortlessly is something that individuals from all ages should be entitled to,” she said.
Emily added the shoes you wear should be both comfortable and supportive.
“Design should be secondary.
“Of course, every woman wants a nice pair of shoes for both herself and her children.
“At Dr Kong, we aim to provide the best of both worlds.”
