THE Selangor Government will consider giving Temporary Occupation Licence (TOL) land to youths who are interested to take up farming.

Mentri Besar Azmin Ali said the TOLs were also being offered to those operating nurseries, car parks, billboards and guardhouses.

“All those who are carrying out farming activities on state lands can apply for the licence.

“We encourage youths who are interested in farming to take advantage of the policy,’’ he said in reply to a question from PAS-Selat Klang assemblyman Dr Halimah Ali.

In March, Azmin said, the state had decided to approve TOLs that met the required criteria.

He said the state also encouraged applicants to apply for the permits on abandoned state lands.

“We hope this will encourage youngsters in the state to venture into farming activities,” he said

Meanwhile, Azmin also said that the state was in the process of collecting data of all the TOL land that were available in Selangor.
