Pemenang sharing its history with public

THE gallery at the Penang Malay Association (Pemenang) in Jalan Pemenang, Penang, is completed and has opened its doors to the public.

It is located on the top floor of the association’s two-storey building which underwent a two-month renovation for the purpose.

Association president Tan Sri Mohd Yussof Latiff said the gallery would be open daily from 10am to noon and from 3pm to 5pm.

“Those who are interested to know the history of Pemenang are encouraged to visit the gallery to view our collections,” he said after the recent opening of the gallery by National Heritage Foundation president Datuk Seri Kamaruddin Siaraf.

Among the items displayed were news articles, trophies and photos related to Pemenang. Admission is free.

The association also celebrated its 88th anniversary with a video presentation and gave out awards to long-serving members before the opening ceremony.
