THE Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix Gala 2015 happening tonight at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre will be a glamorous affair with high fashion, fine dining and exciting entertainment from The Jacksons.

The unforgettable evening will kick off with a Red Carpet reception hosted by fashion maven George Kotsiopoulos, who is also famous for co-hosting ‘Fashion Police’ on Channel E.

For the first time, the gala dinner, concert and after party will be held on one night.

Guests will include F1 team principals and drivers, royalty as well as local and international celebrities.

During the Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix Gala 2015’s media conference at the JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur yesterday, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chairman Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir said this year’s gala promises a fusion of high fashion and music.

To whet the appetite of guests, there are six food stations featuring Asian, Western, and Middle Eastern food.

A Vintage Haute Couture fashion showcase by Cameron Silver, who was listed as one of Time magazine’s “25 Most Influential People in Fashion” and helped pen a book, Decades: A Century of Fashion will also take place.

The less fortunate will are not forgotten as a charity auction will be held with proceeds going to Bidara Kedah, a charitable organisation run by the wives of the Kedah Barisan Nasional elected representatives.

Bidara Kedah provides aid and assistance to Kedahans in need including victims of the floods that hit parts of the state earlier this year.

The items on auction include a Mouawad Ring, Jaegar-Le Coultre’s AMVOX5 World Chronograph LMP1 Watch, a painting by Terengganu born Suzlee Ibrahim and two Petronas racing suits signed by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, valued at RM55,000.

Guests will then proceed to the Plenary Hall to watch The Jacksons in action in a 75-minute concert.

The after party will see a 14-piece orchestra, Dov Amiel, from France perform while guests enjoy supper.

Workers were spotted at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre yesterday putting the finishing touches to the venues.

A 24m runway will also double up as a dance floor during the after party while title sponsors and sponsors will be seated in cabanas and fashion lounges.

The exclusive dinner, themed “fashion”, will be held in the Grand Ballroom and will be redecorated for the after party in the event’s theme colour of fuchsia and gold.

Guests can also enjoy Mouawad’s jewellery showcase and F1 cars will also be on display at the event.
