FOLLOWING the upgrading of its premises, Tanjong MCA division service centre is now back to help the people in the Pengkalan Kota and Komtar state constituencies in Penang.
The service centre is located at the ground floor of the new Penang MCA headquarters in Jalan Transfer.
The service centre is operating every Tuesday from 8pm to 10pm. It is closed on public holidays.
Division chief Datuk Dr Loh Hock Hun said the Pengkalan Kota and Komtar Task Force would not be discouraged from serving the public.
“I believe that the rakyat will appreciate our sincere efforts and show their support for us in the long run,” he said when relaunching the centre on Friday.
Also present were the division’s secretary Datuk Lim Gim Soon, treasurer Lim Guan Hong, Komtar Task Force chief Tan Hing Teik and Pengkalan Kota Task Force chief Lim Swee Bok.
When asked for comments on Penang’s water tariff hike, Dr Loh said: “I believe now is not the right time.
“The state government should be helping the rakyat, not burdening them with the in-crease.”
The Penang Water Supply Corporation has announced that charges would increase by an average of 16.7% on April 1.
