Health Dept seeking way to keep closer watch on building sites

DISCUSSIONS are underway among the Health Depart-ment, local councils and agencies to find the best way to monitor efforts of housing developers and contractors in curbing mosquito breeding at their construction sites.

Penang Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, Rural Development and Health Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin said although developers were required to identify their Health and Safety inspection team when submitting their projects as stated in the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974, the monitoring was lacking.
