MANY of the visitors who came to the Star Property Fair 2015 were looking for a second home as investment.
Among them was businessman T. Kumar, 39, who is looking for another property in the southwest district of Penang island.
Kumar, who is staying at a condominium in Tanjung Bungah, said he was interested in The Address, a development consisting of 124 boutique condominiums and 24 duplex lofts by IJM Land Berhad in Bukit Jambul.
“Since I am now staying at a condominium in Tanjung Bungah, I hope to get another property on the other side of the island.
“The Address by IJM Land looks interesting. The low-density environment ensures exclusiveness and privacy,” he said when met at the IJM booth yesterday.
Over 30 industry players are featuring new and secondary property — ranging from luxurious abodes to affordable housing, commercial lots and industrial developments — at various locations and price ranges during the fair.
It is held for the first time on the mainland at Sunway Carnival Mall and Sunway Carnival Convention Centre in Seberang Jaya.
Businessman Alan Oh, 39, and his wife Julie Lim, 38, were also impressed by The Address by IJM.
“It seems a sound investment to get property on the island. Most of the projects here are really impressive.
“My wife and I really like The Address due to its proximity to public amenities like the Penang Bridge, schools, wet markets and hypermarkets.
“We already own a place in Jalan Raja Uda and getting another property on the island is definitely a good move,” he said.
Two friends Abbie Lim, 29, and Alan Tan, 27, were also looking for second homes in George Town.
Their attention was drawn to the Icon Residence in Jalan Pykett and Ferringhi Residence 2 in Batu Ferringhi. Both projects are by Mah Sing Group Berhad.
“Many of our friends have been talking about these two projects.
“We came here hoping to know more about the projects. The sales personnel here are really helpful,” said Abbie when met at the Mah Sing booth.
Ferringhi Residence 2 features two condominium blocks perched on the highest plateau along the Batu Ferringhi cove while the Icon Residence comprises 294 condominiums.
The Star’s executive director Tan Sri Kamal Hashim and Penang MCA secretary Tan Chuan Hong also toured the booths yesterday.
The four-day expo, which will end on Sunday, offers attractive rebates and packages. It is from 10am to 10pm daily.
