School organises jogathon to raise funds for upgrade

WESLEY Methodist School Ipoh will be organising a charity jogathon to raise funds.

Its senior principal Goh Kai Lian said they needed the funds to upgrade the infrastructure of the school.

“Through this charity jogathon, we wish to upgrade our science labs to meet the requirements of the Science Practical Exam for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia exams and improve the infrastructure in the primary school.

“We also wish to help in the resettlement of the orang asli community, who were severely affected by the recent floods,” she said.

Apart from raising funds, Goh added that the event also aimed to provide an opportunity for families to be together.

“This quality time will be able to strengthen the family unit,” she said.

As a not-for-profit educational institution, Goh said the school is also appealing for sponsorship for the event.

“We are hoping that this could be an opportunity to promote products and companies through a sponsorship arrangement.

“We anticipate over 1,000 participants for this event and we will give recognition to the organisations involved with our event,” she said.

The jogathon will be held from 7am to 10am on March 28.

Minimum donation to participate is RM10 and deadline for registration is March 10.
