Chic and trendy: Casual denim and indigo tones are given a sartorial touch in the Into the Blue collection.

VIBRANT colours, luxurious floral prints and relaxed denim are among the key features of Marks & Spencer’s (M&S) contemporary yet elegant Spring Summer ’15 collections for women and men.

It is currently available throughout the iconic British retailer’s Malaysian stores, including the latest one in Gurney Plaza, Penang.

The branch features a new look womenswear department designed for an enhanced shopping experience.

The ladies’ range includes Into the Blue, a line that elevates casual denim and indigo tones to sartorial aesthetics. The Uniformity selection has sleek and refined linear edges, with earthy tones punctuated by monochrome.

The Summer of Love range is a fusion of subtle floral and retro styles, while The Orient injects Eastern elements into modern silhouettes alive with seasonal hues.

There is also Modern Romance, in which lace and sheer fabrics create dramatic looks.

Men are catered to with both formal and casual apparels done in a relaxed, understated look. The focus is on clean lines, fine summer fabrics and iconic masculine styles, with shades of blue in vogue.

With denim being key to the look, jeans are available with improved fits and new finishes, and complement both casual day looks and formal outfits.

The M&S Menswear is a luxurious and sophisticated range, with refined shapes, textures and patterns across formal wear.

Meanwhile, the casual line-up has new looks like marl yarns on knitwear, tailored trousers and paper touch bomber jackets.

Blue Harbour is a range that brings nautical heritage into spring, and has a bold British feel with its red, white and blue tones, as well as striped and chequered elements.

The high street M&S Collection has excellent tailoring throughout the range, from statement suits to newer ones with softer constructions, and unlined pieces that create more relaxed look for summer.

M&S’ 1,400sq m Gurney Plaza store is located on the ground floor of the mall’s extension wing, and is operated by long-standing franchise partner Robinson Group, which is part of the Al-Futtaim Group.

The second to open outside of the Klang Valley, following an earlier one in Johor, it brings the number of Robinson Group’s M&S stores in Malaysia to seven. There are a further 10 in Singapore.

Besides apparels, the store also has a 250sq m Food Hall, which carries hundreds of quality products including traditional British favourites like shortbread, jams, marmalade, tea, cookies, ginger snaps, savoury snacks, confectionery and celebration gifts.

M&S was established in the United Kingdom in 1884, and is now one of its leading retailers with over 810 stores there. There are a further 470 stores spread across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
