Muddy river: Soil erosion at Kampung Sungai Buluh in Sungai Siput has caused the river to be shallow, so the water overflows into nearby fish farms when it rains.

ABOUT 20 fish farmers in Kampung Sungai Buluh, Sungai Siput want the state government to control the logging activities on the hills near the village.

They claim that the logging activities were causing soil there to be exposed and rain washing the soil down towards the Sungai Buluh river, making it shallow and its waters overflowing into nearby fish farms.
