EVERY Chinese New Year, the staff of Perak Community Specialist Hospital in Ipoh set aside their commitments to spread some festive cheer among the less fortunate.

This year, they visited the elderly from Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua Seri Bahagia as well as children from The Salvation Army Ipoh Children’s Home.

Led by the hospital’s chief executive officer Rajindar Singh, the group first headed to the old folks’ home on Jalan Sultan Dr Nazrin Shah, bringing with them ang pow, mandarin oranges, nutritional biscuits, oral supplements and skincare products.

Greeting them at their next stop were a bunch of eager and excited children. The faces of the children immediately lit up at the sight of the angpow and goodie bags containing mandarin oranges, sweets, chocolates and supplements given out by Rajindar.

The children were later treated to McDonald’s Happy meals and they had fun playing games.
