Do not be fooled by IS on net

KUANTAN: The public, particularly youths, must be wise in evaluating information obtained on the Internet and not be deceived by them, especially on the so-called Islamic State militant group.

Pahang Youth and Sports Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Johari Hussain said they should not be duped and be involved in the militant movement as it deviated from the true teachings of Islam.

“The young generation must be smart and impose self censorship. They should not allow themselves to be influenced with postings on websites created by them (militant)

“IS is promoting their jihad as a holy war by offering rewards to heaven, but the fact is, they are promoting violence,” he told reporters after opening a forum on anti-corruption.

He said the people should avoid getting involve in the IS militant movement because it was not inline with the teachings of Islam.

Also present were Padang Tengku assemblyman Datuk Mustapa Long, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) director Datuk Shamsun Baharin Mohd Jamil, Pahang MACC director Zainul Idris and Pahang Youth Council (MBNP) president Khairul Amin Osman. - Bernama
