Ohrwurm Series #10 returns to Nagaba with a special show featuring Victor G & Alam back to back all night.

Ohrwurm Series is a concept where some of the most talented artistes that have been on the Ohrwurm watch list for some time will be featured. The Series portrays the quality for which Ohrwurm has always been known for to provide the finest in club entertainment.

This special 10th edition will be the official launch of Victor G & Alam’s duo collaboration.

Individually, both have been prominently active in the industry for many years, but it is only recently that they have established their distinctive sound. This collaboration has been known to destroy dance floors across town, all of which received highly positive feedback.

DNB XTRA presents GOLDIE. The British electronic music artiste, disc jockey, visual artiste and actor is well known for his innovations in the jungle and drum’n’bass music genres.

He co-founded Metalheadz - in 1994 with legendary drum’n’bass duo Kemistry & Storm — a pioneering drum’n’bass record label based in the United Kingdom and has been home to some of the drum and bass scene’s brightest talent and is notable for the high quality of its back catalogue.

With such seminal long player outputs such as the mid-1990s Timeless and Saturnz Returns and more recent material the likes of 2007’s Malice in Wonderland, 2009’s Memoirs of an Afterlife (released as Goldie presents Rufige Kru) just the tip of the iceberg of this legend’s prolific presence in the world of drum’n’bass and more, this is not a night you would want to miss. Music Is Love with Da Funkie Junkie & Friends this Saturday sees the return of Malaysian DJ legend Da Funkie Junkie with a brand new night in a new venue in town. “Music Is Love” every Saturday at Mr Brooks in Bangsar Shopping Centre pays homage to music including soul, funk, jazz, disco and deep house, amongst others.

The musical ethos is inspired by legendary DJs Larry Levan and David Mancuso and their modern incarnations, Dimitri from Paris, Joey Negro and Danny Krivit and more. The early hours will provide customers with an opportunity to discover the “roots” of dance music including soul, funk, jazz, disco and Afro-Latin beats.

The latter stages of the night will build towards current and classic deep soulful house, disco house and garage. As Mr Brooks is a speakeasy and not a full-fledged club, the music will be down-tempo to mid-tempo but uplifting, exuding positive energy. The music will be soulful and organic, classy and elegant. Feliz Baile with Kuma and Dr P. DJ Kuma has been DJ-ing for more than a decade and a half now playing nothing but house music since 1999, and, as one of the country’s pioneering underground DJs, he continues to keep the scene alive and fresh in Malaysia’s growing Electronic Dance Music scene.

Dr. P has been involved in the music industry from the age of 15. A young UK Garage MC, with a multitude of lyrical talent, he was picked up by a local DJ and toured the south of the UK performing at events until the age of 17, when he joined the army.

Whilst in the military, he kept in touch with his musical side, and began to take a big interest in underground house Music. Doctor P is now the Resident DJ at Sandcastle Club, a well known underground venue in Koh Phangan, Thailand, where he has played along side such acts as, Miyagi (Katermukke), Kaiser Souzai (Ball Room), and James Trystan (Defected in the House) regularly.

Play 4 Passsion hits the 12 hour trail from 3pm in the afternoon. Play 4 Passion is a 12 hour concept of underground music by DJs for DJs. It’s been going on for a few months now and features a weekly line up of a spread of DJs both new and fresh to the veteran and established. This Sundays line up especially features a vinyl DJ session featuring Kumaraza, J-Sun, Bernie and Backslash from 3pm to 6.30pm after which the medium switches to digital with the likes of Novatune, Alex and Uzair, Funkayrol, Trippydeejay, Mantis & Jay J, Najee, Shah, Alex Martin and Kumaraza. And the music, well, it’s all about the passion for it and veers towards the non mainstream type for the most part.
