KEDAH’S plan to build 53 houses for flood victims in Kampung Karangan in Manek Urai, Kelantan, has received the support of NAAM Sdn Bhd.
The Langkawi-based tour company donated toilet bowls, handheld bidets and sinks worth RM25,000 to help in the RM100,000 project.
The houses to be built by the Public Works Department on a private land would also involve volunteers from Kedah and the Kampung Karangan community.
NAAM general manager Hamid Harun said the company decided to chip in after reading about Kedah’s plans to build the houses.
“Our contribution may not be highly valuable but we feel that it will help defray cost. It also serves as our company’s corporate social responsibility,” he said after receiving a certificate of appreciation from Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir at Wisma Darulaman, Alor Setar, recently.
