JOHOR BARU: Hameed Razak is giving a whole new meaning to the term “convenience store ” by selling his goods from a mobile van that travels from door to door.
Hameed, 41, decided to run the mobile sundry shop after his father’s shop in Taman Majidi closed.
“I wanted to continue what my late father started but decided to go mobile instead,’’ he said.
Hammed added being mobile has its advantage as the hours are flexible and he can run errands in between such as sending his seven-year old son to school.
Among the items he sells are perishable goods, eggs, biscuits, snacks as well as canned drinks and food.
He goes to places like Taman Mount Austin, Taman JP Perdana and Taman Desa Jaya.
“One day I hope to have a permanent sundry shop like my father’s as the income is better,’’ said Hameed.
Eunice Joseph, 40, said she would only buy bread from Hameed as it was very fresh.
“Sometimes I’ll call him if I need a specific item,’’ she said.
Housewife Norsaliha Abdullah, 46, said that with Hameed around, she hardly buys from sundry shops as the price was much lower and it was convenient too.
