Ferrosilicon producer to commision more furnaces


KUCHING: OM Materials (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (OM Sarawak), the first company to produce ferrosilicon alloys in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu, raised its ouput to 8,350 tonnes in the the Oct-ober-December quarter as its smelting plant ramped up production.

The US$400mil plant started commerical production with one furnace (from A01 workshop) last September, and this was increased to four furnaces by end-2014.
