JOHOR BARU: SWM Environment Sdn Bhd brought some cheer to the students of the Cerebral Palsy Johor (CPJ) in conjunction with the Chinese New Year which is celebrated today.
Leading the entourage from the company was its southern region manager Mohd Zan Arris with 20 staff and they brought along goodies for 110 disabled people of the centre aged between five and 50.
SWM Environment also donated RM1,000 for CPJ and upgraded the dustbin from the rear-end-loader to a 1,100 litres Taylor dustbin to cater their needs at the school in Jalan Dato’ Menteri.
“We hope the financial aid will help the centre to run its daily activities,” he said adding that SWM staff also helped to clear the garden waste, the drainage systems and would also provide grass-cutting services every two weeks.
Meanwhile, CPJ deputy president Datuk Rahmat Abdul Rahman thanked SWM Environment and hope companies and non-governmental organisations would come forward to donate to the centre as well as do volunteer service.
He said the centre was in the midst of providing a new sensory integration room for its students in order to stimulate their movements and also gross motor to better improve their skills.
“The cost of having the room with a complete equipment is RM150,000 and we still need onations from members of the public,” said Rahmat.
