THE public can now settle their assessment bills and parking summonses at the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP)’s auto kiosk machine at the Esplanade from Feb 16.
The auto kiosk machine which is the first to be set up by the council will operate 24 hours a day.
MPPP president Datuk Patahiyah Ismail said the auto kiosk machine accepts payment by cash or cheque.
“However, they must pay only cash for their parking summonses.
“We rent the machine for RM4,600 a month. We will see how the public response to it before getting more auto kiosk machines,” she told reporters at the Esplanade yesterday.
She said the machine would help the public make payment more convenient even after office hours.
“I’m sure that the public will be happy with the new machine.
“We welcome any suggestions to improve the facility.
“Besides that, I also want to encourage the public to settle their yearly assessment bills as they will be entitled for a lucky draw.”
State Local Government, Traffic Management and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow launched the project.
