KUCHING: Great Advisor Group, under Great Eastern Life Assurance, together with Hope Place has organised a charity mission to deliver food aid and supplies to needy families.
This is Great Advisor’s first charity work, led by Kuching branch manager Paul Moh Mee Chin. A total of 15 staff and customers lent a hand in this charity event carried out during a heavy downpour.
The objective of the event was to let the needy families enjoy Chinese New Year as well as encourage their own staff and customers to do something good and fulfilling.
“Through Hope place, I noticed that with less than one hour’s drive from Kuching, there are so many needy families around. Why not do something to bless those families in need during this Chinese New Year,” said Moh in a press release.
Starting at 7.30am, the group wa able to visit eight families. About RM3,000 worth of food and essential items such as oranges, cookies, cooking oil, school stationeries and clothing were handed over to Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan.
Hope Place is an NGO that visits and distribute essential food items to the poor and less fortunate families.
For those with children with special needs, or with elderly people, Hope Place provides milk powder and diapers as well.
Aid deliveries are done once in every two months because many families are on the recipients list. Currently Hope Place supports more than 100 families.
